Purchased in November. Installed in December. It almost immediately started turning color. It was replaced and within a short time at got disgusting again. I tried everything to get it back to the original finish but I’m going to have to the scrap the entire drain assembly and purchase a new one. It won’t be the same brand - that’s for sure!UPDATE #2: I received the cover plate and change it out. However, the base of the shower drain was also peeling below the cover. I would not recommend the product at all. I see myself contacting customer service every few months for a new cover, but the peeling will still be seen around the edges fo the cover. Pretty pissed. Back to one star simply for the customer service being good.UPDATE: I contacted customer service in regards to the product. They responded very quickly and said they will be sending a replacement cover. I upgraded the 1 star to a 2 simply on the customer service. Hopefully the product has been improved and the issue will be resolved.Purchased this drain for a shower remodel in the master bathroom. After about three months I began to notice the drain cover peeling. Really disapointed in the quality of the product. It's the first thing I see every time I get in the shower. I would not recommend this product. I will also be contacting customer service to see if they will ship a replacement drain cover.About 6 months after install, the brushed nickel layer started peeling off. It is not real brushed nickel. I replaced the grate, but the surround is still peeling and is irreplaceable since its grouted into the tile. DO NOT BUY!I ordered this mainly for the brushed nickel grate; I had to buy the whole thing to get that of course. I have the same thing but a 2015 version of it. The only surprise is that the screws that attach the grate in the replacement one were smaller than in the older version. So Inhad to keep and use those.easy to installThis looks nice but I have a situation where I need it to fit an existing thread or the 4 bolt pattern needs to fit existing and neither were a good fit..This didn't fit this existing Oatey shower drain base so I had to return this.The Kohler fit my existing Oatey shower drain base so I went with it.Besides being very pretty the decorative plate comes unscrewed to be able and clean. It has a hair catching strainer... ooh, would catch a dropped earring too. 2 screws hold the plate down. Not cheap or chintzy materials used. Very impressed.
