Installation was straight towards, the new valve has ever outlet marked as to where it goes. I did mine a little different than the install calls for. I originally planned on piping the rainforest head out the wall so I bought the wall mounted kit. Once I got the box opened and placed the bar with the head on it against the wall I didn't feel like the head extended out far enough and would have forced you to be pretty close to the front wall. So instead of sending it back I just didn't use the wall bracket and bought a 4 inch threaded nipple from the hardware store to drop through the ceiling.My old shower valve was sweated in copper and I wanted to switch everything to pex just for ease of install. After cutting the copper tube out from shower head and valve I was able to start with the new kit. The packing was superb, everything was individually wrapped in a protective cover. They include Teflon tape, and even white cotton gloves to avoid finger prints. I did not see a template, but that would have been handy. It was easy enough to measure the valve and transfer the measurements over the existing hole. I used an oscillating tool to cut through the fiberglass surround. I was able to crimping everything to the valve and then get it lind up with the newly cut hole. Since I switched to pex I had to secure the threaded fittings where all the heads mount. I used drop ear threaded fittings and was able to screw them to short pieces of 2x4s. After that secured those smaller pieces to the 2x4 studs in the wall to hold them tight. The next stepwas the most difficult in my install(and it was not hard at all) and that was run 1 pex tubing thought the wall and top plate into the attic and then turn that 90° and over to another drop ear threaded fitting and down through the ceiling for the rainforest head.To finish the install I just needed to install the chrome faceplate and handle and the diverter cube. I believe this kit is meant for a new shower install, so me retrofitting it into an existing shower surround created a few issues that the new install wouldn't encounter. The main issue was the faceplate is flat and I think my surround has a tiny curve. To workaround this I used clear silicone and added a bead on the back of the plate around the perimeter and a few lines across the entire plate. Once I placed it on the wall I took my extendable shower rod and a 2x4 to hold the left side of the plate tight, and I physically held the other side right against the wall. After a few minutes I was able to let go and the silicone held it in. After removing the shower rod I had to do the handle/diverter. This was a slight pain too, the Allen wrench they proved only fit the set screws on the short side. I was only able to tighten about 5° at a time. It took about 30 wrench adjustments to get the two set screws tightened, I could have easily grabbed one of my Allen wrenches and probably did it in about 30 seconds. This took me a couple hours since I had to go up in the attic and run a water line, and I had to do everything from behind the shower wall so in essences I from behind and somewhat backwards.Now the install is done I had to try it out, and WOW this may be my new favorite thing in my house. You can set it to run just one head at a time or spin the diverter and split between the rainforest and the hand wand, mind you I place the wand where a traditional shower head is just because the hole was already there from my previous unit. The pressure is perfect, I wasn't sure what to expect since I have never used this style of shower. I bet I doubled my shower time just because it was so relaxing and calming. We are so glad we gave this brand a try.I'll start with the few cons albeit minor and still allowed a 5 star rating they are still worth mentioning1- no cutout template provided2- after shutting the valve sometimes the water will continue to drip for 15ish seconds3-i had to remove the tub spout and when I did the threaded fitting stayed in the wall and the spout spun off. Not a big deal, there is an Allen cutout inside to extract it. Except the size of the Allen needed is huge, I'm not even sure because I didn't have one big enough, I had to use a set of channel locks to spin it out(not the best method). This may have been user error and I tightened it too tight but I don't think I did it overly tight because I knew I would need to pull the head for a pressure test.4-the Allen wrench provide was not the correct size on the long end, it would not fit either set screw. And the overall wrench is just too short, takes way too many adjustments to get the on/off temperature handle secured.5- the wall mount bar seems to be far too short, I did see they have longer available and to contact the manufacturer. That is great but I'm sure you have to pay for the new bar, they should just offer that as an option when ordering the unitNow Ill list some of the Pros1-packaging was top notch, with everything individually wrapped it is impossible for anything to get scratched in shipping.2-everything that is needed is included. Allen wrench, mounting screws, Teflon tape, and cotton gloves.3-everything on the valve is labeled and easily readable, takes all the guessing out.4-the chrome finish is great and the build quality is very good. Everything is metal and chrome instead of plastic.5-the wand hose is super flexible, best hose in a shower I have used. Normally they are stiff and rigid and hard to maneuver. This one is just goes where you want it, was a nice added feature.6-the rainforest experience is such a cool and relaxing feature. I'm not sure if it's just the right pressure or the amount of outlets in the head but it is just so refreshing.We are so HAPPY we got this kit and we are thrilled with the quality and experience.
